My bog standard steak marinade consists of:
- Worcestershire sauce,
- Balsamic vinegar,
- Mustard,
- Salt, to taste,
- Black pepper, grounded
Mix all of the marinade ingredients together, and marinade the steak for at least an hour, the longer the better.
As for the mushroom cream sauce:
- Butter,
- Garlic, minced
- Button mushrooms, sliced, either fresh or brined is fine,
- Cooking cream,
- milk,
- thyme,
- salt,
- black pepper,
- Beef stock
Heat up the butter, and put it the mushroom, and let it cook until the mushroom is tender. Add in the cooking cream, salt, pepper, and the beef stock, and let it cook some more. Add garlic and thyme. Optionally you can add some milk if you want it to be less thick, or if you want more, but don’t want to add more cream. Should you want the sauce to be a bit sweet, you can add a small amount of brown sugar.
Heat up some butter, and mix it with minced garlic, or garlic powder. Grill your steak to your liking, I prefer medium raw, so it’s about 3-4 minutes on each side.
Take it off the grill, and layer it with the garlic butter we’ve prepared earlier while it’s hot. Let it sit for a couple of minutes before serving it. Garlic rice would be a nice companion to our steak 😀
